Bio

Duncan is a communications media professional and mixed media artist, living in Seattle.

Originally from Ohio, Duncan graduated from Antioch College in Yellow Springs, concentrating on video and community television production. In San Francisco, he earned a masters degree in educational technology at San Francisco State University and devoted his time and energy to community activism. Based in Seattle now, he makes his living as a professional web producer and is developing a studio practice in mixed media painting.

Public Website Support

Maintained and upgraded external website. Designed and developed event-specific websites for conferences and public symposia.

Assisted with writing, editing, design, and production of newsletters, directories, reports, slide presentations, posters, etc.

Accomplishments at UCSF
  • Designed and developed the administrative intranet for organization of 500 researchers, clinicians, and administrators.
  • Developed public user interface for UCSF Cancer Clinical Trials database on Cancer Center website.
  • Recognition award for design and development of online registration application and website for professional scientific retreat, including authenticated user accounts, symposium submissions, and back-end administrative management of conference details.

Artist Statement

Working with mythology as a source of imagery and narrative, I am making multidimensional, mixed media explorations of contemporary human issues. My interest extends beyond making objects to community activism and cultural change.
